Environmental issues have become matters of public and political concern. In this course, we shall explore human nature relation in political theory, the rise of environmental politics, green theory and the political attempts to cope with several environmental problems related to ideas, activism and policy. The course deals with the relationship between state and non-state actors (government, private sector, civil society organizations, local community, etc) as well as the role of these different actors in environmental issues such as power, democracy, security, sovereignty, legitimacy, justice and so on.
