Paragraph Writing (B)

This course introduces the students to the concept of paragraph writing. The course begins with a lecture on what a paragraph is, the components of a paragraph, and the structure of a paragraph. The students will have a practice session on preparing a paragraph outline and developing it into a cohesive and coherent paragraph. Selected samples of students’ assignments will be discussed, focusing on their use of punctuation, tenses, adjectives, and adjective phrases/clauses. During the entire course, the students will be given several assignments to write descriptive, narrative, and/or other types of paragraphs. The course ends with a brief description of how individual paragraphs contribute to the development of an essay.
